Enjoy your next vacation surrounded by natural beauty at Ventura Pines Cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan in charming and historic Holland, Michigan. This is the sister property to Ventura Pines Cabin, which is located within easy walking distance across Lakeshore Drive 1000 feet to the south. These two properties are available together for WEDDINGS, FAMILY REUNIONS and other special events. 

Ventura Pines Cottage is a stunning craftsman cottage with incredible views of Lake Michigan and can easily accommodate large groups within it 4000 square feet of living area, as well as in neighboring cottages. Natural beauty abounds in the 140 feet of direct lake frontage, private beach shared with 2 neighbors (40+ total steps in 3 sections, see 2020 Beach Update below) and large 1+ acre yard that is well groomed and nicely landscaped.

The cottage is handsome and sturdy in the craftsman style, is recently renovated and well appointed with master carpentry throughout, hardwood floors with inlays, stone fireplaces, leaded glass doors, granite countertops, heated tile bathroom floors, stained glass lighting and windows. There is a spacious great room living area, well equipped gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets, lakeside breakfast nook that seats 12, dining room table that seats 10+, family room, den, recreation room with pool table and ping pong, 2nd kitchen on upper floor, 2 laundry rooms, 2-car garage, heated floors, security system, air conditioning and ample parking.  More descriptions are also provided under photos in photo gallery. 

PROVIDED FREE, as available: use of kayaks (2 adult, 2 kid sized),  SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard), volleyball, badmitton, corn hole toss, whiffleball.

BEDROOMS: For sleeping, there are four main bedrooms, a bunkroom and a den. There are two are master suites; the 2nd floor master suite has breathtaking lake views, fireplace, canopy bed, access to sundeck, large master bathroom with whirlpool tub and heated floors. The 1st floor master suite has a ½ bath, sliding door to private patio, and provides garden and lake views. The other bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed with Casper mattress, the den on the main floor has a daybed with trundle (two twin beds). Upstairs is a family bedroom with a Queen bed and two twins, a small bunk room with two twin beds, and the luxurious master suite already mentioned.

For your outdoor enjoyment the cottage also has a large lakeside screened porch with 2nd floor sundeck above, boulder-lined campfire pit on bluff surrounded by log benches, outdoor patio, charcoal grill, and a private beach with 140 feet of frontage (see beach update below).

No smoking or pets allowed.

AVAILABILITY AND RATES: Summer weeks are available Saturday - Saturday with rates ranging from $4500 – $6500. Additional charges for large groups and event hosting. Please see availability tab above to check what weeks may be available. Reduced rates are available in off season and monthly winter rates are available upon request.

BEDROOM CAPACITY: The maximum number of overnight guests is 14 that can be accommodated. Three bedrooms each have a Queen bed, and one bedroom has a Queen and two twins, the den main floor has a day bed with trundle, and the small bunkroom upstairs has twin bunk beds.

These two properties are available together for vacations, family reunions and other special occasions. A vacation at Ventura Pines Cottage and Cabin can be a unique and wonderful way to celebrate and unite with family and friends for a reunion, anniversary, birthday or other special occasion.

These precious times together can become an extended celebration as up to 60 overnight guests guests can be accommodated at Ventura Pines and neighboring cottages.

PLEASE NOTE: Ventura Pines Cottage is NOT available by the day and is not a wedding venue. It is available exclusively for use by family and friends for vacations and casual events. Small celebrations that are respectful to the neighbors and home may be allowed during your stay under certain circumstances.  

2020 BEACH UPDATE: Rising Lake MI water levels have impacted the size of the beach, and access to the lake can be interrupted by storm damage to stairs. Dune Revetment construction (rocks put at base of dune bluff at shore edge) was completed in August 2018 which has mostly stabalized bluff and erosion.  Sand bags (50 foot long geo-textile) were added in 2020 to provide additional protection to sand dune and to maintain yard and bluff.  New stairs were built in 2020 which are shared with two neighbors for a win-win situation: we share our stairs, they share their beach.  Although we have managed to have lake and beach access almost 100% of the time thru all the natural changes to the shoreline, beach and lake access cannot be guaranteed due to very dynamic conditions that could cause stair damage and restrict access. Seawalls installed decades ago are exposed again in lake after years if being buried under sand of large beach we have had in years past. The beach and Lake Michigan water levels are very dynamic and lake access could be interupted by damage to stairs. New deck benches were completed in June 2019 on mid dune deck near water offer comfortable seating near water. This is the alternate "deck beach" in the event erosion, high waves or stair damage limit use of beach and lake.  To help further enjoy the water, kayaks and SUP are provided for your free use,  conditions premitting.
