A trio of vacation homes, a Cottage, Cabin and Church Cottage, can comfortably accommodate up to 35+ people. Ventura Pines has welcomed multi-generational family groups and friends for over a century.
Ventura Pines Cottage is a stunning craftsman cottage with incredible views of Lake Michigan. It can easily accommodate large groups within its 4000 square feet of living area and in neighboring cottages. Natural beauty abounds in the 125 feet of direct lake frontage. The beach is accessible with stairs that two neighbors share. Many fun family times will be enjoyed on the large 1+ acre yard that is well groomed, lushly landscaped with a fire pit on the bluff, with firewood and many yard games provided such as volleyball, badminton, corn hole, etc.
Ventura Pines Cottage is handsome and sturdy in the craftsman style, is recently renovated and well appointed with master carpentry throughout, hardwood floors with inlays, stone fireplaces, leaded glass doors, granite countertops, heated bathroom floors, stained-glass lighting, and windows. There is a great room living area with 65-Inch TV; well-equipped gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets, a gas stove, and two refrigerators; a lakeside breakfast nook that seats 12; a dining room table that seats 12; family room on 2nd floor has 40-inch TV and full kitchen; den on the main floor has a piano and twin trundle couch/bed; recreation room in basement has a pool table and ping pong; 2nd full kitchen on the upper floor; 2 laundry rooms (one on each floor); 2-car garage; heated floors in bathrooms and laundry room; security system; air conditioning and ample parking. Of the six bedrooms, two are master suites; the 2nd-floor master suite has breathtaking lake views, a fireplace, a queen-sized canopy bed, access to a sundeck, a large master bathroom with a whirlpool tub, and heated floors. The 1st-floor master suite has a ½ bath, sliding door to a private patio, and provides garden and lake views. For your outdoor enjoyment, the cottage also has a large lakeside screened porch with a 2nd-floor sundeck above, a boulder-lined campfire pit on the bluff surrounded by log benches, an outdoor patio, a charcoal grill, and a beach that is accessible by stairs which are shared with two neighbors.

Summer weeks are available from Saturday to Saturday with rates ranging from $4500 to $7500. Additional rates may apply for large groups or hosting an event during your stay. Please see availability and rates on the VRBO link. Reduced rates are available in the off-season, and monthly winter rates are available upon request. Effective 10/1/23, Park Township will no longer allow short-term rentals of less than 28 days. However, it is expected that Ventura Pines Cottage will be “grandfathered in” and allowed to continue to be available weekly or monthly, as it has been used continuously for short-term rentals since before the 1974 ordinance took effect.
The maximum number of overnight guests is 12+ in 6 bedrooms. Three bedrooms each have a Queen bed; one has a Queen and two twins. There is also a twin-sized trundle bed/couch den/bedroom on the first floor, and the kid’s bunk room on the 2nd floor has twin bunk beds.

These two properties are available together for vacations, family reunions, and other special occasions. A vacation at Ventura Pines Cottage and Cabin can be a unique and wonderful way to celebrate and unite with family and friends for a reunion, anniversary, birthday, or other special occasions. These precious times together can become an extended celebration as up to 60 overnight guests as guests can be accommodated at Ventura Pines and neighboring cottages.

The main floor “great room” has incredible lake views from the living room, dining room, kitchen, and screened porch, which all adjoin each other. There are two bedrooms and a den on the main floor level that will sleep six, as well as two full bathrooms and a half bath in the 1st-floor master bedroom. Craftsman-style touches abound on the main floor with hardwood inlay floors, built-in cabinetry, craftsman columns, stained-glass, and lighting. The main floor also includes a laundry room, cabana bathroom, outdoor shower, large foyer entry, and a two-car garage.
Tremendous lake views are the show’s star on the second floor. As you enter the upper living areas from the craftsman staircase in the front entry hall, peace and serenity may overtake you. The master bedroom has a queen size canopy bed, gas fireplace, two walk-in closets, sun deck access, and a large master bath with a whirlpool tub, separate shower with two shower heads, and toilet enclosure. The family room has leather couches, 40-inch TV, a small kitchen, and a wall of windows that open to a large sundeck. The sundeck is great for watching the lake/sunset, picnicking, taking a nap, sunning yourself, or reading a book. A second smaller kitchen on the second floor has a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, and great lake views. The guest bedroom has a nautical motif and sleeps 4 in a queen and two twin beds. There is also a 2nd laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer. There is a small kid’s bunk room with two twin beds. The second floor operates on its heating and cooling system, which can be adjusted to meet your needs on the thermostat near the leaded glass double doors near the top of the stairs.
LOWER LEVEL BASEMENT: A pool table with a ping pong conversion top awaits you for fun, competitive times! There is also a convertible couch in the basement.
